The journey to create Grace House began in 2013 because of a motorcycle crash. A local WNY family got the call that their son, Gunnery SGT David Celej USMC, retired, was in grave condition after being in a motorcycle crash in Asheville, NC. The driver who turned his truck into David’s path never even saw him. The family rushed to be by David’s bedside.
Nothing could prepare the Celej family for that medical journey – or the loving kindness of strangers that waited for them at a guest house close to David’s trauma hospital. There they were cared for: sheltered, fed, and transported to the hospital every day, allowing them to focus on what was important day by day.
The family’s journey was shared with Grace’s founder and inspired her to create something similar here in our community, now known as Grace House.
David Celej survived his motorcycle crash, but it’s not so for too many others. That is why Grace House is hosting the first Ride with Grace motorcycle safety and awareness cruise.
Your participation not only supports patients and caregivers in need, but you’ll also be part of a group spreading motorcycle awareness across Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. Don’t miss your chance to Ride with Grace!
